Cannon Michael President/CEO

Cannon is the President/CEO of Bowles Farming Company. He is the 6th generation of his family to work in the family farming business. A graduate of the University of California at Berkeley, Cannon joined the company in 1998. Cannon became the President and CEO in 2014 after his uncle Philip Bowles retired. Cannon is an advocate for California agriculture and intelligent water policy. Environmental stewardship, ethical treatment of workers and sustainable production are all extremely important to Cannon and the Bowles Farming Company team. Cannon splits time between Fresno and Los Banos.


Brent L. Toolson Chief Financial Office

Brent is the Chief Financial Officer for Bowles Farming Company where he has worked since 1996. Before that he worked for Kaiser Aluminum & Chemical Corporation and Deloitte, Haskins, Sells. He graduated from Brigham Young University in 1980 with an M.S. in accounting. He holds a California CPA license. He currently resides in Los Banos, Ca.

Helen Bohr Office Manager

Helen Bohr is the Office Manager for Bowles Farming Company. Helen began working for Bowles Farming Company in 1978 part-time. In 1979 Helen started working full-time for BF Chemical as a chemical purchasing agent. In 1980 Helen went back to work for the farm and has held several different positions. She was born & raised in Los Banos where she still resides.

Brad Benton Vice-President of Farming Operations

Brad Benton is the Vice-President of Farming Operations for Bowles Farming Company where he has worked since 1994. He was born and raised around his family’s farm. He attended University of Redlands and currently resides in Los Banos, Ca.


Danny Royer Vice President of Technology

Danny started his role as the the Vice President of Technology for Bowles in February of 2016. Prior to Bowles, Danny worked in Agriculture Operations for a local tomato processor, as the Farm Manager for a local organic farm and as a Field Administrator for a neighboring farmer. Danny has a degree in Agriculture Systems Management from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. Other than his time in San Luis Obispo, Danny has spent the entirety of his life living in and around Merced, Ca


Derek Azevedo Executive Vice President

Derek Azevedo is the Executive Vice President of Bowles Farming Company. Prior to joining Bowles in early 2017, Derek spent 12 years working with farmers throughout the Central Valley as a business development representative for the world’s largest tomato processor. Derek graduated from Kansas State University, and currently resides in Gustine.


Curtis Garner Senior Farm Analyst

Curtis is the Senior Farm Analyst for Bowles Farming Company. Before that he worked for The Morning Star Packing Company as an Agriculture Operations Manager. He graduated from California State University, East Bay with an B.S. in Finance. He currently resides in Modesto, Ca.

Rachel Mendoza Receptionist/Clerk

Rachel Mendoza is the Receptionist/Clerk of Bowles Farming Company. Prior to joining Bowles in 2005, she served in the US Navy and afterwards worked in Los Angeles at a property management company in accounts payable and as a Notary Public. Originally from Hollister, California Rachel graduated from San Benito High and also worked on an apricot farm for several years. Rachel currently resides in Los Banos, California.

Ben Garcia Area Foreman

Ben Garcia joined Bowles farming Company in 2014 as an Area Foreman. He supervises general farm practices, irrigation management, and fertilizer and chemical applications. Ben has 12 years of prior farm supervision experience in Arizona and Chowchilla, Ca. He currently resides in Chowchilla, Ca.


John Palazzo Foreman

John Palazzo joined the Bowles farming family in 1992 as Foreman overseeing the Pick Andersen area. John oversees the planting of multiple crops, harvesting of the cotton crop, as well as daily operations in the Pick Andersen.

He attended Modesto Junior College studying plant science and ag mechanics.

He currently lives in Los Banos, California.


Gary Sousa Superviser

Gary Sousa joined Bowles Farming Company in 2014 as Shop Foreman. He supervises daily shop activities and assists in ground preparation. He attended Merced Junior College studying animal and crop science. He currently resides in Dos Palos, Ca.

Justin Metz Technology Integration Specialist

Justin is the Technology Integration Specialist for Bowles Farming Company. His responsibilities include Veris soil sampling, variable rate applications, GPS systems, and as a FAA Part 107 license holder, chief pilot for drone operations. He has worked for California Sun Grower Services in several capacities such as; automated transplanter specialist, pull-behind harvester specialist for southern operations, and most recently, the research and development mechanic focusing on automating systems. He’s attended Merced Junior College, West Hills College, and Modesto Junior College. He currently resides in Atwater.
